Early Childhood Friends,

‘Give him an A’--- ‘sounds like a downward spiral, how can we think differently?’ --- and the favorite ‘rule #6’ are phrases starting to pop up at state level early childhood tables.  Many partners have read The Art of Possibility by R.S. & B. Zander in which readers are challenged to consider the role the notion of possibility can play in all aspects of work and life.

The book promotes creative, open thinking--- a fundamental skill in the dynamic world of early childhood systems building.  I, like so many of you, am challenged daily to build off previous work while identifying and seizing opportunities to elevate and move things forward.

Inside this Smart Start Colorado e-newsletter there are many opportunities and possibilities to learn about and connect with including:

  • Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy is providing training to libraries across the state for literacy-enhanced storytimes for children birth to eight as well as parents and caregivers

Continuing with this theme, the Early Childhood Team in the Lt. Governor’s office regularly sends a Progress & Possibilities: Early Childhood news email blast.  Send an email to early.childhoodteam@capitol.state.co.us with "Subscribe P&P" in the subject line.

May this spring be filled with possibilities,

Jodi Hardin
